Who Is a Good Candidate for Extensions?

Most people with medium to thick hair density are great candidates for hand-tied extensions. If your hair is very fine or thinning, we'll talk honestly about whether extensions will work for you or whether they might cause more harm than good. People with very short hair (above the chin) may need to grow it out a bit before installation so the wefts can be properly concealed.

Good candidates typically want one or more of these things: added length they can't achieve naturally, extra volume and fullness (especially for fine hair that has enough density), help blending out an awkward grow-out phase, or a fuller look for a special event like a wedding. Length Options and What to Expect

We offer Christian Michael hand-tied extensions in three lengths:

18-inch extensions are the most popular choice for clients who want added fullness and a natural-looking length boost. If your natural hair falls around your shoulders, 18-inch extensions will bring you to about mid-back. This length is easy to manage and works well for everyday wear.

22-inch extensions give you noticeably longer hair that falls well past your shoulders. This is a great option if you want that long, flowing look without going to the extreme. It's also popular for weddings and events.

24-inch extensions are our longest option and deliver serious length. These are best for clients who want a dramatic change and are comfortable with the extra maintenance that comes with longer hair.

Each length is available in 1-box, 2-box, or 3-box packages. One box adds subtle volume and length. Two boxes give you a fuller, more noticeable result. Three boxes are for maximum volume and density. Your stylist will recommend the right package based on your natural hair and your goals.

Maintenance and Care

Hand-tied extensions typically last 8 to 10 weeks between move-up appointments. At your move-up (re-install), your stylist will take the wefts out, wash and condition your natural hair, and reinstall the extensions higher up as your hair grows. This keeps them looking fresh and sitting in the right position.

Between appointments, you'll need to follow a few care guidelines: use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner, brush gently with a loop brush (we'll show you how), avoid applying conditioner or oils directly to the beaded rows, and sleep with your hair in a loose braid or ponytail to prevent tangling.

Do extensions damage your natural hair?

When installed and maintained correctly, hand-tied extensions should not damage your natural hair. The beaded-row method we use doesn't require any glue, heat, or chemicals. The most important thing is keeping up with your move-up appointments and following your home care routine.

How long does the installation take?

A full installation typically takes 2 to 3 hours, depending on how many boxes you're getting and whether custom color is involved. Move-up appointments are usually a bit shorter.

Can I color or heat-style my extensions?

Yes. Because we use 100% human hair extensions, you can curl, straighten, and blow-dry them just like your natural hair. We can also color them in the salon. We do recommend using a heat protectant to keep the hair in good condition for as long as possible.

What if I decide I don't want extensions anymore?

No problem at all. Your stylist will remove them safely at your next appointment, and your natural hair will be in the same (or better) condition it was in before installation. There's no long-term commitment required.
