Every now and then a product comes along that clients come back for specifically by name. Taffy Whip is one of those products. New clients try it in the salon and immediately ask what I just put in their hair. Existing clients ask me to make sure we always have it in stock. There's something almost magical about the way it works.

You stretch it between your palms — it literally stretches like actual taffy — and then you scrunch or work it through your hair. Natural sculpting fibers distribute through each strand and create definition, texture, and hold that is genuinely soft and touchable. Not waxy, not greasy, not stiff. Just beautifully textured hair that moves and looks alive. It works differently on wet versus dry hair: on wet hair you get more defined waves and curl enhancement; on dry hair you get that editorial, undone, lived-in texture that looks effortless even though it isn't.

How to Use

Scoop a pea-to-dime-sized amount and rub vigorously between both palms — stretch it like taffy until you can see the fibers distribute. Scrunch or rake through wet hair for waves and definition. On dry hair, finger-comb through ends for texture and piece-y detail.

Who Is It For?

Anyone who loves touchable, effortlessly textured styles — wavy hair, curly hair, short textured cuts, or anyone who wants that 'I woke up like this but I definitely didn't' look.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Is Taffy Whip greasy?

A: It's the question I get asked every time I reach for it at the station. No — and that's the thing about it that surprises people most. You rub it between your palms, it warms up and stretches, and then it absorbs into the hair instead of sitting on top of it. Shine? Yes. Greasiness? Absolutely not.

Q: What's the actual difference between using this on wet hair versus dry hair?

A: On wet hair, Taffy Whip enhances your natural wave and curl pattern and creates more defined, structured texture. On dry hair, it gives you an undone, piece-y, lived-in look — great for deconstructing a blowout on day two or giving a short cut some dimension. Both applications are beautiful, just different.

Q: Can I use this on color-treated hair?

A: Yes — it's fully color-safe. The natural fibers actually form a light protective layer around the hair shaft that can help slow color fade. It's a styling product that's genuinely nice to color at the same time.

Q: How much do I actually need? It seems like it could go fast.

A: Very little — I promise. Start with a pea-sized amount for short hair or a dime for medium hair. The stretching technique is the key to making a small amount cover a lot of hair. Most clients actually use too much on their first try. When in doubt, use less and add more.

Q: Can I layer this with other products?

A: Yes, and this is where it gets fun. A popular combo: Curls Whip Mousse or Jump Volume Mousse as a base for moisture or volume, then Taffy Whip for definition and texture, sealed with Curls Finishing Spray or Blowout Finishing Spray. The layering creates a result that's far more dimensional than any single product alone.
